ISMS 27001:2005 standard provides benchmarks/guidelines for securing Information Assets of any organization from the threats, disruptions & malfunctions to which those assets are exposed and by keeping in view the sensitive nature of our business this system is very beneficent for the betterment of the organization.

ISMS has placed a great effect on my department and to an extent on my personal life, as my department Internal Audit is the most sensitive department of the organization, we as a custodian of the company’s most sensitive information are committed to secure it by our profession and ISMS provides benchmark of how can we secure information in more efficient & effective manner. As our day to day activity is influenced by ISMS so it has automatically influenced my personal life the same way it did in my professional life.

As the ISMS has been implemented in our organization and we are following all the necessary guidelines in our routine task so we do not feel need to take any special arrangements to manage the ISMS activities with our routine task. ISMS is a very comprehensive and fruitful information security system and through its implementation we have reduced our major information disruptions & threats to an acceptably low level but still we need to reevaluate our existing systems to get maximum results.

The whole process of ISMS has been very pleasant from its initiation to implementation as we have been working for it from almost last 2 years and this whole journey has given us many experiences which has convincingly trained us that how could the minor ignorance can cause major problems and how minor precautions can give us major security benefits. As ISMS is a globally recognized certification and through its special features among others worth and a value addition for any organization from the corporate world who select this for itself will increase its market worth and reliance of stake holders.

As I have commented above that by picking up the right certification at a very right time i.e. ISMS, will provide substantial growth and strong market reputation, as by implementing this system in true spirits we can serve our company in more efficient & effective manner which will place ultimate effect on stakeholders confidence & reliance. Above all ISMS has given us a paradigm to move in the corporate world with a different perspective.
